Elephantastic

Yes, I repurposed that word from a favorite nail polish…

When we were in Thailand, we had the pleasure of visiting BaanChang Elephant Park in Chiang Mai.  Seeing so many elephants up close was really amazing… this blog post can't do the experience justice.  Suffice it to say that these creatures were beautiful, we learned so much, and I'll always be grateful for the time we spent there.  Also, riding an elephant is awkward.

I've had elephants on my mind ever since!  They've found their way into some of my artwork - specifically, the nursery paintings.

I created two new elephant watercolors for baby showers.

The first is a thumbprint guestbook:

Here is how a thumbprint guestbook works:

This setup includes instructions, two pens, and two inkpads.  It's always a good idea to have wet wipes on hand, too!

Guests stamp the paper with their thumb and sign it with the pen.  Hopefully your beautiful guests are forgiving if you put their picture on the internet.  :)

That's it!  You're finished with the guestbook, and now you have beautiful custom art to display on your wall.

I also worked on this watercolor, to which I will add the baby's name, birthday, height, and weight when she is born.

Might make a cute birth announcement!
